Many believe that smart people are destined for success. They believe that in order to ‘do well’ in life, you must be blessed with a high IQ.
A high IQ certainly helps with many things, but it’s not a measure of your capability to succeed in life. In fact, renowned Stanford University psychologist Carol Dweck’s book – Mindset: How You Can Fulfil Your Potential – reveals quite the opposite. When it comes to performance, attitude is more influential than IQ.
Her research has found that people’s attitudes generally fall into one of two categories: a fixed mindset or a growth mindset. While someone with a fixed mindset believes they cannot change who they are, a person with a growth mindset believes they can improve with effort. Ultimately, the latter allows someone to make mistakes, learn and grow – outperforming their IQ and leading a more successful life in the process.
So how exactly do you improve your attitude, develop a growth mindset and outperform your IQ? Below I have provided 7 ways to do that:
1. Learn to embrace setbacks
It would be nice if life always went to plan – but it never does. Learn to not only cope with setbacks, but actually embrace them. Embracing setbacks allows you to bounce back, learn from mistakes and discover ways to achieve success.
“In other words, don’t expect to always be great. Disappointments, failures and setbacks are a normal part of the lifecycle of a unit or a company and what the leader has to do is constantly be up and say ‘we have a problem, let’s go and get it.” – Colin Powell
2. Be passionate about what you do
American business magnate Warren Buffett – who is considered to be the most successful investor in the world – has often noted that the key to success is finding your passion. Being passionate about what you do is instrumental to your success; if you’re empowered and pursue your passion relentlessly, it becomes possible to compete with those who are perhaps naturally more talented.
3. Overcome fear and take action
The best way to overcome fear and anxiety is to take action. Those with a growth mindset are not inherently braver than others – they just understand this notion and have learnt to overcome these emotions. Turn your fear of failure into positive focussed energy, and do it now because there is no such thing as the perfect moment.
4. Give it your all
Research led by Veronika Job, found that students shouldering a high workload performed better when they believed that willpower was unlimited as opposed to finite. Interestingly, when students who believed in unlimited willpower were subject to greater pressure during their studies, their performance improved even further.
The point here is to push yourself to go the extra mile, even when you’re having a bad day. There is always room for improvement; those with a growth mindset understand that there are no limits to what you can do. There will always be plateaus; you just have to learn to push past them.
5. Don’t let failure dent your expectations
Successful people expect results. When things don’t go according to plan or downright failure ensues, don’t let it dent your expectations. The minute you no longer expect results is the minute you wave goodbye to achieving your goal. When you expect results, you will remain motivated and continue on a path towards success.
6. Become flexible
Fast Company, one of the world’s leading progressive business media brands, once published an article that began with the line “Highly successful people are the ones who have failed the most.” Nothing could be more truthful.
As we all know, failure is inevitable. People with a fixed mindset view failure as a road block, and it stops them from learning and progressing. Those with a growth mindset simply view failure as a learning curve and continue on towards the results they expected – ultimately finding success. Be flexible, dodge those curve balls and continue onwards and upwards!
7. Don’t complain
Okay so there are some moments in life that warrant the expression of your displeasure such as when your housemate or partner fails to do the dishes for five nights running. However, when it comes to your career there is no room for complaints. Complaining is symptomatic of a fixed mindset; look for opportunity in every inconvenience and learn to embrace situations rather than complain about them. You never know when a golden opportunity will present itself!
“The future rewards those who press on. I don’t have time to feel sorry for myself. I don’t have time to complain. I’m going to press on.” – Barack Obama
Learn how to change your attitude and develop a growth mindset; it’s far more important to life success than having a high IQ. The best part about your attitude is that it can be altered – anyone can adjust their way of thinking if they’re prepared to work hard and embrace change.

Successful entrepreneurs come in all shapes and sizes; young and old, highly educated and high school dropouts, bootstrapped and venture-funded. There’s no one size fits all combination that you could possibly use to model the “perfect entrepreneur.”
What similarities do successful entrepreneurs have in common? What factors helped determine their level of success? Through my research & analysis, my findings show that all successful entrepreneurs share a common set of core traits & attributes.
Here are 6 core attributes every successful entrepreneurs have:
1. Perseverance
Being an entrepreneur day in & day out is NOT easy. Ask any successful entrepreneur this question. They’ll likely tell you the same thing. When you look at the individuals today who are successful in their space/industry, it’s important for you to remember that not a single one of them got to their level of success overnight.
Tim Ferriss volunteered at the Silicon Valley Association for Start-up Entrepreneurs for free. This eventually led to him becoming friends with Jack Canfield (bestselling author of “Chicken Soup for the Soul) & connecting with his literary agent.
Gary Vaynerchuk produced Wine Library TV videos for 18 months straight every day before most people even knew who he was. Gary clearly understood playing the long game.
“Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.” – Pele
2. Adaptability
In the technological age that we live in, changes are occurring at an extremely rapid pace. Over the past 5-10 years, we’ve all witnessed drastic changes in the economy. Blockbuster was a billion dollar company, but failed to adapt (they lost). Netflix & Amazon Prime have taken over the market.
The same situation is occurring in the taxi industry as well. The industry as a whole has failed to adapt & is slowly fading away. Uber & Lyft are taking over market share worldwide. As Charles Darwin said, “It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent. It is the one who is most adaptable to change.”
Although Darwin only lived during the 19th Century, he still hit the hammer on the nail perfectly in regards to the importance of adapting as an entrepreneur in the current world we live in.
3. Value
I am yet to meet a successful entrepreneur who didn’t bring tremendous value to their business, organization, or cause. As best selling author Michael Ellsberg states, “you are not entitled to anything in this world, until you create value for another human being.”
By offering great value through the work you do, you’ll unconsciously attract others to your business and they’ll be inclined to be apart of what you’re doing.
4. Visionary
When you look at the list of the top companies on the Fortune 500 today, it’s incomprehensible to think that a company so large all started because of a single idea that one person or a small group of founders had.
Every great business in the world started with an idea. An idea which someone acted on to turn it into a profitable business. As you move through your journey & entrepreneurial pursuit, you are going to meet people along the way who will criticize your idea, make fun of it, & even try to put you down in your efforts.
Whatever you do, don’t let their efforts stop you from striving for your goals. Most successful companies that are around today were once thought of as crazy ideas too. Stay focused on your vision.
5. Gratitude
Gratitude is one of the most common traits I found that great entrepreneurs held. Robert Emmons is seen as the world’s leading scientific authority on gratitude.
Emmon’s breaks down gratitude into 2 main components:
First, it’s an affirmation of goodness. We affirm that there are good things in this world, gifts and benefits we’ve received. The second part, Emmon’s writes, is that we acknowledge that other people give us gifts (business, personal, etc), to help us achieve the goodness in our lives.
Make it a point to have more gratitude in business. Not only will it make you feel more fulfilled personally, but it will also help fulfill the lives of the people you surround yourself with.
6. Passion
We hear the word “passion” being used in business as often as a ping pong ball gets tossed around at a college frat party. With all this broad discussion on the word, why is passion truly a key attribute that all successful entrepreneurs hold?
Because when you are passionate about what it is you’re working towards, you’re willing to put in more work every day & will stay in it for the long haul. Winning as an entrepreneur is a marathon, not a sprint.
It’s a marathon race that is run uphill into a storm, has potholes on the road that you need to avoid along the way, & other competitors are trying to throw you off the course.
“There is no passion to be found playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.” – Nelson Mandela
With that being said, you’re going to need to work obsessively hard. Waking up before everyone else, staying up later, and sometimes even losing sleep. You’ll only be able to sustain this level of intensity if your business is built on the foundation of something that you are passionate about.
Which core attribute do you need to work on to become a successful entrepreneur? Please leave your thoughts in the comment section below!

Starting a blog is easy but making a blog that stands out from the crowd is difficult. Your blog represents your business so establishing yourself as a go-to source is essential. However, you’re not alone.
There are Millions of blogger along you, and many of them are already successful and, then there are other who are trying their best. If you’re a newbie blogger; want to stand out out of the crowd, then give this article a shot & you’ll learn how your can growth hacks your Business.
Here are 6 ways you can stand out as a beginning blogger:
1. It all begins with epic content
Well, this saying is not new to the market. The fact has been well known that it all starts with epic content now. If you publish the contents that solve the query of your audience, then you are most likely to become an authority within your blog niche.
Once you cracked the secret of writing epic content, then you will definitely stand out from the crowd. This type of content will help you to get social shares, comments; and most important it will drive you backlinks from the authority sites.
Practice writing viral content, then not only will you get direct hits to your article, but Google will also love your blog, and it will help you to improve your blog’s SERP.
“Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value.” –Albert Einstein
2. Don’t stick to one type of content
This is the biggest mistake newbie bloggers do, but it’s not discussed that often. Newbie bloggers just stick to the one format, i.e., writing plane articles all the time. This is 2016, change your mind. Publish Infographics, and videos on your blog.
Yeah, you heard it right. Newbie bloggers never post infographics and videos on their blogs. If you can’t publish videos at least, try to publish infographics. Infographics not only help you to increase your social shares but it also helps you to get mentioned on big authority sites within the same industry.
According to WebDAM, the human brain processes visual data 60,000 times faster than text. And, 65% of your audience are visual learners. So to capture the attention of your 65% audience make sure you publish infographics.
3. Learn how to brand your business
Branding is important for every business be it for a small firm or big firm. The ultimate goal of every business is to establish themselves as an authority in their industry. Yeah, Newbie bloggers know the importance of branding, but they are often misjudged. They consider logo and their content/services as everything about branding. Yes, these two things do matter, but branding is more that that.
The future of branding is engaging — appreciate your customers’ intelligence by not giving everything away up front. Generate some deal and allow them to discover more about your brand for themselves. This is the way to encourage representatives who delight in telling other people what they have discovered.
4. Connect with influential bloggers and build relationships
Newbie bloggers often suck at building relationships. They often find it worthless. However, It’s essential to build a relationship with influential bloggers because it will help you grow your blog and business with a rapid pace.
They are already authorities in their industry so leverage the power of connecting with them, the ultimate way of growth hacking success. They can quote you on their blog or retweet you on Twitter, or you might get an opportunity to guest post on their blog, and find a ton of new readers for your blog. Your view or opinion can help you impress the audience within the same genre, and that will make it easier for you to expand your blog’s audience.
5. Stick to the schedules
According to the coschedule, 22% of the bloggers find it hard to find time for their blogs, and 11% bloggers find it hard to post content consistently. If you’re consistent, then you’re definitely going to be in the spotlight. If you’re one of them who update their blogs once in a month, then it’s not going to help you in any way. So, be consistent.
Forget all those excuses, publish content once a week, and then promote it on various social medias especially Twitter, and Facebook. We all know that these 2 are the major platforms that have every kind of audience.
If you’re finding it hard to publish quality content once a week, then it’s going to be hard for you to become a stand out blogger. Go through that initial pain but that will definitely pay off in the following time.
6. Be inspired and be positive
It’s going to be hard in the initial stage, but it’s worth it. And, every blogger/entrepreneur goes through the same pain. Sleepless nights are going to break you but don’t give up. Be positive and stay inspired. It’s the fear of failure that will not let you stand out from the crowd.
You have to keep trying and keep experimenting what works for you business. If one strategy fails, then go and make another but don’t feel down because that’s the part of life.
“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” – Thomas Edison
Often, people compare themselves with the successful people, and that makes them feel unfortunate. Always remember they too went through the same pain, and tough period but the only thing that didn’t let them quit is their ruthless aggression and passion for their work.

The stresses of modern life and fear of failure can threaten to keep us closed off from our fellow humans at times. Global terrorism, economic collapse and our own personal struggles all do their best to keep us down, to keep us disconnected and unsure of ourselves.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
We all have it in us right now to do good things in this world, to be the source of good emotions for others – to go all in, in every moment and fight the good fight.
Below I’ve highlighted 3 steps you can start work on today to help you become a more open person, who gives off amazing energy to everyone they meet.
1.Own Your Mistakes
We are all fallible. No matter who you are there’ll be times when you will make mistakes. You will mess up.
The true test however, is how you deal with those mistakes. Because when you take full responsibility and own them, people don’t care, but moreso they see it’s OK to let their guards down too.
Taking full responsibility means you allow yourself to be vulnerable and open. And that is very attractive and authentic to people.
A great technique to help with this is to start reframing your experiences, so that every mistake is simply a way to learn, every failure a step closer to your next win. Once you reframe these mistakes you take control of your world and become so much more clear, carefree and authentic to others.
Remember you alone have total power over how you interpret your experiences. If amazing stuff is happening, it’s because of you. If bad stuff is happening, it’s because of you
Allow yourself to be vulnerable and take responsibility for every emotion and you cannot help but be an authentic and shining light in the world.
2.Give Truth
Secondly, when you’re talking to people always show them the real you. It will instantly create a connection with that person. Whatever it looks like, share your truth with the world.
If you feel it, express it. If you know 100% what you’re doing is right for you, then that’s all that matters.
Be you.
If you say something that people don’t like or disagree with, so be it. As long as you aren’t actively or purposefully trying to insult or hurt anyone then that’s on them not you. Being authentic and connected is never about ‘people pleasing’.
Plus what you’ll find is that people will always respect you more for that anyway. They may not always like what you say but they’ll like you more than someone who tries to appease everyone for their own gains.
3.Deny Nothing
You might have already heard the phrase ‘what you resist persists’ before and it is so very true.
You can keep negative emotions balled up inside of you, try and ignore them, but all you’re really doing is keeping that bad energy sustained inside of you. You might not think it’s there because you’ve pushed it so far down. But it is, and it’s going to be like a little gremlin eating away at you over time.
It’s been proven that when people numb pain they don’t just numb that bad feeling – they numb every feeling they have. It’s all connected.
So by numbing the bad energy they’re also taking away all the other amazing emotions and becoming the type of person who is fearful of life, who doesn’t value or invest in themselves and who doesn’t take decisive action on their goals.
So from now on if anything is getting you down just focus on it for a few minutes. Say to yourself: ‘Yes I am feeling this way. It’s really not nice but I need to deal with it. Now.’
Take some time to work through it and believe me it’s amazing how quickly you can release the bad energy once you allow yourself to be vulnerable and open to the issues.
Resist nothing and it will ebb away quicker than you imagine.
So make a choice right now. Choose to be open, to be vulnerable to show the world your true authentic self.
And the best thing is, when you do you’ll see that the rewards are plentiful. You show someone the real you and that’s going to give them the courage to do the same. Real connection.
So go all in.
You’ll be so glad you did.

You’re excited. You have finally came up with an idea that you know will crush it in its industry. The problem is, you’ve been here before.
More than once in fact. Ideas are not the problem for you. Where you struggle is taking the next step of turning that new idea into a viable business.
Does that sound familiar? If so, you may be what many in the entrepreneur space call a wantrepreneur. What’s a wantrepreneur? A wantrepreneur is simply a person who is going to start a business, but for some reason (or a list of reasons) never does, yet keeps talking about it.
If the definition of wantrepreneur matches what you have done in the past, don’t despair! There have been many people that have been able to make the move from wantrepreneur to entrepreneur. All you need is a little help to get you on the right track.
Here are 5 tips to help you make the move from wantrepreneur to an entrepreneur:
1. Don’t tell anyone about your ideas
You’re excited about your new attempt at creating a business. You want to tell the world what you’re going to do. Don’t. Chances are, people have heard all about your past ideas. You never took the steps to implement those ideas.
There will be plenty of time to talk about what you’re doing when you start finishing projects that move you closer to the goal of creating or improving your business. People will be impressed and excited about what you have accomplished and not what you discussed.
“I made a conscious decision not to tell anyone in my life. Now I tell people – don’t tell anyone your idea until you have invested enough of yourself in it that you are not going to turn back. When a person has an idea at that conception moment it is the most vulnerable – one negative comment could knock you off course.” – Sara Blakely
2. Get a written plan
You have all of your plans and ideas in your head. That’s not going to work if you are serious about starting a business.
Why isn’t it going to work? As the cliché goes “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” Not taking the time to commit to a plan shows you are truly not invested in moving forward and are just interested in telling everyone what your plans are.
If you’re serious about starting and running a profitable business what is your plan to get there? Sit down and make a basic plan of what you need to accomplish. It doesn’t need to be a fifty-page manifesto with every detail decided. You should have the big goals written down and then how you think you are going to get it done.
3. Throw out that list of excuses
I don’t have the time. I’m still working for “the man”. I need capital to start. If you find yourself saying these types of things, but are not working in the search for solutions, then you should stop now. Why?
Because issues will continue to arise while running your business. So, if you are going to let time management, another job, or lack of capital stop you, then you don’t want it bad enough. If you wish to be an entrepreneur, then figure out solutions to your issues and then carry out those solutions to keep moving forward.
4. Do the work
Your business is not going to build itself. Now is the time to overcome the excuses and obstacles that are in your way and put your plan into action and do the work. There isn’t anything else that will make your ideas a reality.
“I put my heart and my soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process.” – Vincent Van Gogh
5. Finish what you started
Ultimately being an entrepreneur is about creating a business while taking on the risks associated with starting and building that business. For you to become an entrepreneur, you need to finish and build that business you thought about, planned, and silenced the excuses.
As you can see, the actions you take and complete are what move you forward when building a business thus making you an entrepreneur. Consider these five tips and put them into action. They will move you in the right direction!
When are you going to move from a wantrepreneur to an entrepreneur? Please leave your thoughts in the comment section below!

“Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy wealthy and wise” said by Benjamin Franklin is a well-stated and authorized quote as it has a lot to prove in regard to an individual’s life. Let’s face it, most of us love to sleep for long and that too during the daytime, but trust me that’s not a healthy attitude. Being a night owl is not actually being too bad but yes of course being a morning has a few more benefits. A little lifestyle change in terms of sleeping habits can totally change the way of life you need.
The practical example of this is the big businessmen and successful people about whom there is no one who doesn’t know about. These people tend to their strict morning schedule, even the Former Apple CEO had followed the morning ritual as he says “For the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?”
Here are the benefits of waking up in the morning to make your life healthier, beautiful and happier:
#1. You’ll stand out at work:
If you are a person who works from 9 to 5, you must have realized the importance of morning already. Waking up earlier in the morning, firstly helps you to have a proper breakfast. As it is even recommended and is the most important meal of the day, it could make you feel lighter and brighter and active enough to work efficiently.
If you think that half an hour further snoozing of alarm which results in hopping up from your bed, hurrying up, just grabbing what you find in your fridge to eat, getting dressed up in 5 minutes would complete your sleep, this could totally turn the opposite! Rather than making your day, it can totally break it. Researches show that morning people can anticipate problems and can minimize them. The big problems for such people are not really big and who knows you are now next to get a big promotion!
#2. Waking up early makes you feel less stressed:
People in this busy world today have one thing in common: they feel stressed! And then in this stressful world, people are running around like crazy people, in a hurry or in a full-work mode to get their work done and tasks completed. You keep on working more than 24 hours a day and still run short of time? It couldn’t be only because of the burden or too much work to do. Note your timings what you do at what time of the day. Try analyzing it. There might be a possibility that you are thinking you are working it all right but the first thing you need to know is the importance of a good night’s sleep. Try improving your sleeping habits and wake up early in the morning and you will notice you’ll be less stressed, less depressed, happier and healthier.
#3. Lose an hour in the morning and all day you’ll be hunting for it – So reap the extra benefits
Apart from the discussed benefits above, sleeping earlier at night and waking up early in the morning gives so many extra benefits that one wouldn’t think of.
- If you are the person giving enough time to yourself and work for your fitness, making yourself a morning person can add benefit to it as it has an effect on your weight. Getting the exposure of light during the day can lower your body mass index helping you not to gain weight, thus keeping fit, active and healthy.
- Morning persons have advanced problem solving skills that help them to figure out solutions really quick. They have a better immune system and look positive towards daily activities. They even have a strong willpower.
- Morning persons hold the edge when it comes to business success. Studies have revealed that morning persons are more proactive and seen to perform better at work having higher wages and career success.
- Not relatable but very true, you might not even believe but morning persons are said to be more safe drivers. A Spanish research has shown that people who sleep late at night were asked to drive in the morning and the results were quite drastic as compared to morning persons.
And then after all the early bird catches the worm!

“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.” – Helen Keller
We think that those who have gone through an easy uneventful life are fortunate enough to have such a blissful experience. But are they?
Among the many things that make a person strong, its experience that creates the biggest change of all.
The truth is, an easy life doesn’t prepare you for anything. People who have not been exposed to any kind of pain and suffering while growing up are not well equipped to face the dangers of the real world.
More often than not, children who grew up with strict overprotective parents grow to be shy inhibited individuals incapable of standing up for themselves. The lot of them doesn’t have the mental tools to successfully cope with life’s nerve-racking moments. Because to be able to succeed and bounce back through life’s stressful moments, one must know how to cope. Here are ways to cope through some of the most challenging days of your life.
1. Understand the Stressful Situation
What have I learned – Any experience good or bad, is a chance to learn something new. Your failure might have taught you not to forsake study time again. Your failed marriage is an opportunity to find a better partner. Your bullying high school classmates taught you everything horrible about human nature. There is always a lesson to learn, in each mistake. So don’t be too blind not to see that.
What can I change? – You feel stuck, frustrated and lonely for a reason. And this is because of something that you did, or you’re currently doing. Now that you have acknowledged your faults. It’s time to think up of solutions and things to change.
What do I want? – Your thoughts are important. So does what you think of yourself. When you’re feeling unsure what to do. Trust your heart. Soon you’ll realize that you’re capable of achieving whatever you want. It’s time to stand up for yourself, stop following what others expect you to do.
2. Let out Your Emotions
Bottling up your emotions may do you more harm than good. It’s not only bad for your mental and physical health. Studies say it also knocks years off from your life. The next time you feel frustrated, and feel like you want to shout, cry or throw tantrums. Don’t stop yourself. Do it. The sooner you release that emotion, the better.
Cry. – You’re crying because it matters. Tears do not symbolize weakness. Tears are a sign of humanity. The strong are those who can shed a tear. If you haven’t passed the licensure exam, and feel frustrated, don’t be shy to cry. It’s a good way to let out your frustration and ease the pain away.
Have a Journal – Writing on your journal is a good way to articulate your thoughts. If you’re not feeling up to sharing your ideas, or realizations to friends or loved one, then a journal is your best choice to let out how you feel.
Get out. A busy lifestyle is always depicted by lack of sleep and more time indoors – in office or at home, working your ass off 24/7. What people actually don’t know is. Too much time of staying indoors can actually be bad for you. To keep your mind and body healthy, you need some time outside. Go out, take a walk along the park, look at the birds, the trees…
3. Reach Out
During life’s stressful moments what we need is a helping hand. Don’t do this alone. As humans we are always in search of connection, a chance to share our selves. Who knows? Maybe all you need is a good conversation.
Call a friend – Nobody ever got into life without a friend. Friends are treasures forever. If you’re undergoing one of the most stressful moments of your life, take a break, hang out with a friend and share your thoughts.
Professional services – Sometimes we may need to seek professional help. If you’re undergoing one of the toughest and most stressful moments in your life, it will give you a peace of mind if you ask help from the experts. For example if you just had a fight with your wife, and can’t seem to patch your relationship you can hire a marriage counselor. If you’re about to move with your family, and having a stressful time thinking what to and not bring, hire a mover. There are many professional services out there that can help you during your life’s most stressful moments.
4. Give up the Drama
You can spend all day moping about your regrets. That won’t change anything. Wipe your tears and get a hold of yourself. It’s not the end of the world. You have the capability to work through your situation and achieve what you intended to.
5. Gratitude
Practice gratitude. You must acknowledge that there is always goodness in everything. People are naturally good at heart. And most of the time, they wish you good rather than bad. When you exemplify gratitude, you can achieve true happiness within you. Happiness that can bring out your true potential and help you achieve greater life satisfaction.
Remember life doesn’t get easier, you just get stronger with each challenge you face.
