I love the Summer! But let’s be fair! Who doesn’t? Good weather, holidays, beach, short clothes and … You know…Diet!!! So lets give coconut a shot.
A lot of talk is surrounding these days the benefits of coconut, people are consuming more and more coconut in several ways, milk coconut, oil coconut, coconut water, raw coconut. This fruit became so famous that there benefits became really confusing! And people start question. Its healthy or just marketing.
Lets put it clear! There are no magic fruits that will put you skinny just because you eat it all day (in fact this will just make you ill) or protect you against any disease. The secret is know deep what are there benefits and together with other foods have a healthy and balanced diet. Is never late to remember about the food pyramidthat suffered some changes since we were at school.
So what are the benefits of eating coconuts ingredients (together with a balanced diet).
The coconut water is full of electrolytes, you know this are those guys that keep your body hydrated. This is the best for a post workout (better than those sugar energy drinks) drink you can have it because it will hydrate your body giving the muscles and nerves the water they need (can work on hangovers :p).
The oil is where the confusion starts! The coconut oil is full of fat,and that we know, but there are two kinds, the hydrogenated and extra-virgin coconut oil, you want to stay away from the first one. Although the coconut oil is a saturated fat it has a 50% of lauric acid that our body converts into a monolaurin which has anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-protozoa properties.
The coconut derivates also can improve your secretion of insulin, improves your digestion, improves good cholesterol (HDL), restore and supports thyroid function and help your skin and hair look healthier.
Are you ready to try this delicious sorbet?
This recipe is Vegan and Dairy Free
Time: 1 day
What you will need?
- 250g Coconut milk
- 15 g Dissecated coconut
- 50 g Sugar
- Water
- 1 teaspoon Cornflour
- 15 g Sugar

“Oh dream-maker, you heart-breaker, wherever you’re going, I’m going your way”
To me, dream is such a beautiful concept. It keeps me going everyday, and breathes life into the future that I can hardly anticipate. My dream is big. It not only clouds my days with joy and ecstasy, but also a thousand fears. The closer I get to it, the more fearful I get. But believe it or not, with fears comes courage. In the pursuit of my dream, I have overcome so many fears that gradually, I’ve gotten more courageous. Undoubtedly, a lot of bumps and holes awaits me on the road ahead. But never will I give up, simply because I’m fortunate enough to have all the muses to push me forward.
MY MISSION, MY MUSE.
Just a few weeks ago, one of the job candidates asked me during his interview:
“Have you ever thought of given up?”.
He was talking about a project I’m working on. I took around 5 seconds to come up with an answer. During that 5 seconds, a few faces and images flashed through my mind. I was taken back to 3 years ago, when I was lost in a maze of a thousand choices. As a rebel in class, I hated college. The lengthy lectured bored me to sleep, and the exams scared the life out of me. My heart was always drenched with uncertainty despite the many opportunities that were offered to me. I knew something was wrong. “Who should I become?” – I wondered.
On November, 2012, I decided to join a volunteering campaign at school out of curiosity. And in the blink of an eye, I was changed. I quickly realized that no matter who I become, my mission is to change the life of others, like how others have changed mine. At the end of the day, it is my mission, not my job, that defines me and my future.
“No, there’s no way I’m giving up.”
That was my answer. I meant every word of it. So long as I am still alive and kicking, I would never want to lose track of my mission. The moment I let go of it, my whole existence and identity will shatter.
To this day, the thought of changing other’s lives has been the biggest muse to drive me forward.
MY PEOPLE, MY MUSE.
Last night I stayed up until 2 AM to work on my project. It would have been just another working night if I had not received an email from my assistant at 1 AM. She completed the work just as well as I expected despite the fact that it was one hour over midnight. “Why?” – I asked myself.
Last weekend, our team held an event as part of the project. We invited some parents to tag along behind our students as they ran around the park. It was 37 degree Celsius outside, yet some parents would run ceaselessly under the burning sun to join their kids. “Why?” – I asked myself.
Last month, we were lucky enough to recruit a talented teacher to our team. She has plenty of experience working for multicultural organizations and her English is excellent. Despite her busy schedule, she volunteered to help us with our latest event. As one of the custodians for the scavenger hunt, she waited patiently for our students to finish their tasks regardless of the killing heat. “Why?” – I asked.
You know, maybe I am doing something right, something that others can relate themselves to, something that they believe in.
“My people”, as I call them, share my dreams and hopes. We’re after the same rainbow’s end. Even if I fail, I firmly believe that my dream cannot die as long as I still have them as my muse.
We’re after the same rainbow’s end.
With a pocketful of muses, and a heart full of passion, I’ll be okay.
Thanks for reading.

YOU are a special little creature.
If your eyes are shedding tears there are only three possible kinds to it.
1) Reflexive : clears out irritants.
2) Continuous : keeps eyes lubricated.
3) Emotional : Responding to joy and sadness.
And you know what? Humans are the only one who can do the third one (emotional).
Yeah!! This led many scientists to ask why?
Though there have been reports of elephants shedding tears in grief!
Evolutionary changes are based on improving survival. And if we talk about the benefits of emotional crying the answer is: quite a bit.
Crying is Good for you!
You ask HOW?
Here, are the 7 Real Reasons Crying Is Good For You!
Everyone starts life with THAT first cry! As you grow up you still produce about 5 to 10 ounce of tears a day, even if you Never or rarely cry!
1) Tears are an important communication tool :
What!!? Tears and communication tool?
Well, think about babies? They communicate through their 5 types of newborn cries.
We are embarrassed when people notice us crying. It’s not like we do it on purpose. But researchers have theorized that tears are an evolutionary adaption that signals to other humans that you’re in distress and need help. Its elicits attention from others; at least in early life; and a means for releasing emotional tension.
According to the research in 1980’s psychogenic tears differ in composition from other tears, and it’s theorized that crying maybe a way to ride the body stress-related chemicals. Woman’s tears send a particular chemical signal to men. One of the things this sign does is it causes a dip in the male sexual arousal, which is an involuntary yet very interesting means of nonverbal communication between the sexes.
2) It also kills bacteria:
No need for Clorox wipes. We got tears! Our own anti-bacterial and anti viral agent working for us, fighting off all the germs we pick up on community computers, shopping carts, public sinks, and all those bacterial places. Tears contain Lysozyme, a fluid that the germaphobic dreams about in her sleep. Because it can kill 90 to 95% of all bacteria in just 5 to 10 mins.
3) Crying releases toxins:
Biochemist William Frey who has been researching tears, found in one study that emotional tears-those formed in distress and grief contained more toxic byproducts than tears of irritation ( For eg. : Onion peeling)
Are tears toxic then? No! they actually remove toxins from your body that build up courtesy of stress. They are like a natural therapy or massage session, but they cost a lot less!
4) Tears also help your nose:
Your nose stops when you cry because excess tears come out of your nose through the holes of the bottom of your eyes. Each one of your eyes can only hold about 7 micro-liters of tears. A strong cry causes serious overflow. Those extra tears flood the nasal passages, which creates a runny nose. And hence it clears your nose pulling it all out! Emm.. Gushy Gushy!!
5) A good cry actually improves your mood:
Crying can be a means to catharsis because it helps you release tensions and come to new peace and resolutions about the reason behind the cry. Good cries are often related to another person soothing the crier.
6) Tears cleanse and protect the eye:
When you are not crying tears flow from your Lacrimal glands with every blink, moistening your eyes. This moisture is made up of water, oil and mucus helps to maintain healthy vision. Tears clear your eyes of debris and allow light to enter your eyes so you can see.
Remember when you were dehydrated and could see all blurry?
Yeah!! That was because you DRRRINK no water eh! Drink water, it improves your vision.
7) Crying helps relieve stress:
Emotional tears release a chemical called Adrenocorticotropic (ACTH) which is a chemical that triggers high levels of cortisol in the body, the major hormone involved in stress. You’re basically just leaking stress. Gotta love the human body!!
Are you a cry baby or more of a happy camper? Which kind of tears are you most deprived of? Looking forward to hearing from you!

“Everything you are used to, once done long enough, starts to seem natural, even though it might not be.”
There will always be a question in my head, that makes me open my eyes everyday and realize that somethings happening, that I am still alive and things that happened do not make me complete anymore, even that makes me realize that I don’t live in past anymore, and so-
Why is it so hard to let your old habits die?
Let’s be honest with each other. If we are doing something in regular basis, there is like 100% security that after something fucks up, you won’t be very eager to let it go just like that. The Great Gate of Habits is something that stands here for such a long time without us knowing it’s even here. It is closed like the gates of Azkaban from Harry Potters series, and no one’s leaving until he somehow escapes. Well, this is it, the habits sometimes escape The habit gate and leave you. You are trying to find it, you are looking everywhere and yes, there are times when you find them, but also that you won’t find them at all. Let’s say anymore.
There are habits that makes us feel alive, that makes us continue in our life, that makes us feel the joy, that makes us be passionate about something, that makes us feel that you are finally part of something that makes sense. Those habits that are not toxic and gives you the opportunity to be creative (or not creative at all), full of expectations and happiness. Only particular habits make you realize why the life is so good and precious, that you have some path to continue on, to have some freaking purpose. Those you really don’t want to lose all of this, I am sure.
There are also habits that you intentionally produce and not even realizing how toxic are for you, make your life miserable, those which are wrong on so many levels, that much it all makes you realize that you are again falling into that dark world- but still, you chose it! You are the one who let it come back into your life, you are the one torturing yourself with all those things that you will never see again, but you’ll also never change them. I am not just talking about smoking or drinking but about thoughts that surprise you in the worst minute of your day.
We, as human beings, are trying to get rid of those bad habits and replace them with those which makes us feel something. I am not saying that people are successful every single time, but you know what? They are at least trying, they are not sitting in their sad flats, pitying themselves all day. They grab the opportunity and they lead the crowd to the better mood of tomorrow.
Yes, there are times when even the happiest people doubt the happy period because happiness is so fragile and it can break any minute. They are afraid of losing it, that’s why are they still going back there sometimes to remind themselves that yes, it was a bad period of my life, but it always can be worse. I just decided that-
“I am not losing my sleep over something that won’t give me anything for the future.”
No one’s saying it’s like that, but that’s how it’s supposed to be. Am I right?
So let me take this umbrella and simply leave it all here.

In 2014, a research paper by Lehmann-Willenbrock & Allen was written with the focus to theorize the function and effects of humor in team interaction settings. This shows that there was an understanding that humor enhances creativity and improves job performances in this modern world.
This is a new concept, especially in an uptight Asian work culture. In the older days, employees are divided by hierarchy and breaking the communication walls seemed almost disrespectful, but now in the modern business environment, our younger workforce are looking at each other as equal colleagues and this has helped improve the communication barrier. Respect is something earned through teamwork and results and not just from the age gap. One way to iron out the crinkles (pun not intended) is through humor.
In all seriousness, a business can be mixed with a little pleasure and laughter. It has been proven to trigger positive socio-emotional communication, procedural structure and solutions. In a workplace environment, humor is also positively related to team performance, interactions and satisfaction.
“Mix a little foolishness with your serious plans. It is lovely to be silly at the right moment.” – Horace.
Here are 9 tips about humor in workplace:
- Use humor to uplift people. Do not use it to single any one person out or bring anyone down.
- Use humor to break the ice and make yourself approachable for your colleagues to be comfortable in sharing with you. They will be more willing to open up to you about problems, ideas, and solutions.
- Know your audience. Sometimes pranks or gags can be funny, but only if the other party is on the same wavelength as you.
- Laughter is universal. Humor can be a common ground for cultural differences but do research on what are acceptable jokes in one culture and what is not.
- Do not confuse being a comedian with your job. Professionalism is still the priority.
- Do not be an ass. Racial, sexist, political, sarcastic or discriminatory jokes are not acceptable in any situation. Putting them in a joke does not make them okay.
- Do not force it. Trying too hard will only make things awkward. Take it easy. Humor is best when natural.
- Be confident. Own your joke. Even if it did not work the first time, do not doubt or being yourself down. The whole point of humor at the workplace is to bring positivity and it should start with you.
- Let loose. Sometimes it is not about cracking jokes. Learn to enjoy yourself. Maybe dance in the elevator when no one is looking. Do an air guitar when you close a huge account. You spend too much time at work to not live a little.
